Recovered Headband Tutorial - To Match Twirly Skirt

I had so many ideas swirling around in my head for the matching headband for the Twirly Tulle Skirt.  I finally decided to recover an old headband we had in the drawer.  Don't be surprised if you see three more posts for coordinating hair accessories...I may just have to make each one!

Here is the headband before...

I pulled everything off leaving it nekked...

I saved all of the pieces to make the project easier.  I cut the new material the same size and shape as the old...

Wrapped the edges around the nekked headband and hot glued it on the under side.  I didn't want any hot glue bumps on the topside of it...

Then I hot glued the original hair grip backing on to cover the seam, and to help hold the headband in place when it's worn...

Here it is all covered.  I love the look of it just like this...

But - of course - had to add a rosette and tulle...

Here she is wearing it while watching TV...

Now we've got something to match the skirt :O)...

Wish I had other headbands to recover!...

I have 3 granddaughters and this would be adorable for them. I could see making a few of these for us bigger girls as well. Would you mind if I shared this project on my blog?

I have a quick question about the fabric rosettes. What do you use to keep these to stay together? With the paper ones you use Mod Podge, but how did you do the satin ribbon one for the headband? I'd like to make these to put on some flower girl dresses and I'll be using super slippery organza and I _can_ _not_ mess them up.

See? I told you I'd get around to doing your ideas. I'll even send you a picture, or more likely a link to my blog where I'll most likely post the picture and a link to your faboo little corner.
